Mobile App Setup for Managers: Creating Users

This article will provide a walkthrough on how to create users for technicians in EMDECS.

This is a one time setup required to give technicians access to TechRO and the EMDECS Mobile App.

Please note that there are 2 ways you can have Users setup for technicians in EMDECS.

      1. Each technician has their own username and password to access EMDECS.

      2. All technicians use one shared username and password to access EMDECS.

Create a User

1. Go to Administration > User Accounts > User Manager

The User Manager is where you can edit and create EMDECS users.

2. To create a new user click on New User

3. In the pop-up fill in the Account information. The EmailFirst Name, Last Name, and Effective Date are marked with an * which make them mandatory fields.

Note: If you would like to create a user with a username other than an email (i.e CXXXXTECH) please contact our CX team by submitting a ticket to help@brightorder.com or by giving us a call at 1-877-848-8817.

Once you've filled in all the information click Create.

Make sure it is highlighted in blue then click Add.

Note: Multiple licenses can be assigned to a User, but they must be added 1 at a time.

4. Under the Software pane you should see the TechnicanUserPortal listed with the date and time it was added.

Access Controls (Optional)

After assigning the TechnicianUserPortal to a user you can disable certain functionalities. This is optional.

1. To edit Access Controls use the Search to find the user and click on it. Make sure it is highlighted blue, then click the Security tab. Next click on triangle on the right side of the Access Controls to expand the pane.

Now your technician will be able to sign into EMDECS with the username and password that was setup.

Note: Please note that technicians also need Employee profiles with an assigned Technician software in order to fully access TechRO and the Mobile App.
